Ekwueme, Old Aguata reject Obiano, root for Obaze

It was an historic meeting in Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area on Thursday when former Vice President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, led the 45 communities in Old Aguata to reject the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Willie Obiano, for a second term in his office over his non-performance.
The communities are located in three local government areas of the state.
Addressing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) family at the event, Ekwueme said that APGA has had enough in the state and it is now the turn of Ndi Old Aguata.
He is optimistic that with former Governor Peter Obi in the PDP, that Anambra would have a PDP governor and appealed to Old Aguata people to vote for the PDP candidate, Mr. Oseloka Obaze and his daughter, Chidi, who is the governorship running mate.
Ekwueme said: “Anambra is a PDP State and we are taking over the state. Old Aguata people, this is our duty and responsibility to deliver OHO and Alexandria. Please, we should do that.
Explaining how Governor Obiano failed the state in his almost four years’ administration, Peter Obi lamented that Obiano received N300 billion for the three local government areas in Anambra yet there is nothing to show in the councils even three kilometres of roads.
Obi said that Obiano has not delivered any bus to schools, no security vehicle and had not visited any school, but is asking for a second term. He appealed to Old Aguata people to vote Obaze and Ekwueme’s daughter, Obi said that he kept over N2 billion for Oko Nanka erosion menace with First Bank but three years down the line, nothing has been done, wondering if the money is still in the coffers.
He added that the N20 million to the 45 communities Obiano gave is N900 million as against the N13.9 billion he received from three councils from the Federation Account.
Obaze, in his remarks, said that free education would be awarded from nursery school to junior secondary for Anambra children and charity care for better health would be introduced.
He reiterated that he would stay for only four years in office and hand over to Anambra South as his mission was to restore the glory of the state.
