Oseloka H. Obaze, the PDP candidate for Anambra 2017 governorship election slated for November 18, has said the primary remit of government is to solve problems, not create new ones.
Obaze made this remark in Awka on Thursday when his convoy was forced take an alternative route as heavy flooding besieged Nibo Ring Road, Awka, making it difficult for road users to ply the road.
According to the policy expert, “The Nibo Ring Road in Awka flooded due to government approved market project that blocked waterways. I wonder who approved the EIA (Enviromental Impact Assesment), if any. Evidence government is not working.”
Continuing, he attributed the problem to government’s whimsical policy initiations. “This problem was created by the current Anambra State government who issued licence for a market there subsequently blocking the drainage channel. Passing this route after a downpour has been a nightmare in the past three years with consequent losses. Government must solve problems not create them.”
