AWKA – Oseloka Obaze, the chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, has expressed worry over developments in the Rivers State governorship election and warned that the crisis from the election in the state should not be allowed to snowball into a national issue.
Writing in his Twitter handle, Obaze said: “We are watching with utmost concern and disgust, developments in Rivers State.
“The goings-on there represent the rise of illiberal democracy. The ruling APC government must not allow the governorship election in Rivers State to become a tripwire to a national crisis.”
He counselled that the Independent National Election Commission (INEC) must be allowed to expeditiously conclude the Rivers State governorship elections as it has done in APC-controlled states.
He urged that the will of the Rivers people should be respected and the unconstitutional use of the military there brought to an end immediately.
